The rap game has needed a bomb to go off for quite some time now. Matt Fuze is finally here to ignite the game with his lyrical flow. Born on July 1st, 1997 in Framingham, Massachusetts, it wasn’t long thereafter that Matt was brought to Deerfield Beach, Fl, where he resides now with his mother, Maria Alves Gulart. At a young age, Matt had a knack for slick rhymes and quick comebacks when it came to freestyling with friends during lunch break and after school. By the age of 14, he envisioned a future that incorporated his talent.
Matt started posting videos on Youtube, including his big hits, “Thoughts From a Balcony” and “Could’ve Had it All”. He was soon discovered by the successful music and film mogul, JC ‘Fentz’ Louis, known for his work with August Alsina, FloRida, Ludacris, and Trina. On November 1st 2014, Fentz, along with co-owners Jimmy and James Jones, signed Matt Fuze to Redd City Music Group. Matt was fulfilling his dreams, working in the studio every chance he had.
By January 2015, Matt Fuze opened up for Nipsey Hustle, feeding the fire within him with the energy and cheers from almost 500 people, finally gaining entry into the rap scene. That was only the beginning. He was one of the chosen local artists to perform at the first annual Rolling Loud Music Festival, performing alongside Schoolboy Q, Travis Scott, Juicy J, and more big name rappers. The thrill of performing for his fans and receiving the high levels of energy is what keeps Matt going in such a cut-throat industry.
Matt once said, “Hip-hop should be an art, but we live in a generation where using it poetically gets you nowhere, everything seems to be about sex, money, and drugs.” Listening to his music, you will notice that this 18 year old rapper is planning on changing that very soon. He creates stories with his words while rapping with confidence and bravado. Although he is influenced by many greats, including Joey Badass, Big L, Kendrick Lamar, Drake and J.Cole, he is paving his own creative style and creating songs that are heartfelt, exciting, and honest, leaving him to stand tall in the rap scene.
Matt is currently working on his first mixtape to be released in 2016. He will take you on a ride through his mind along with his crew, known as the Royalty Boyz.
